Teams The Best in Howard County

Color Guard competes with other schools, is a more
solemn ceremonial and formal unit whose sole mission is to honor
the national, state, and military flags. Being a member of the Color
Guard is a high honor; you must be perfect in drill and ceremony
techniques as well as having a good knowledge about uniform
dress and appearance. Of all the special teams, the Color Guard is
the most active, performing dozens of times every year.
Unarmed Regulation Drill Team
members are the best in marching in the battalion. They
compete by marching a prescribed drill sequence and doing it
perfectly.
Armed Regulation Drill Team
members compete by performing manual of arms both
stationary and while marching using a drill rifle.
Unarmed Exhibition Drill Team
compete doing step routines.
Armed Exhibition Drill Team
members compete by performing trick manual of arms both
stationary and while marching using a drill rifle. This team also
performs at different school sponsored events.
Raider Team members compete inphysically
challenging events. The competition starts with the Army
Physical Fitness Test where cadets must do as many push-up
and sit-ups as they can and then run one mile. Other events are
first aid, orienteering, rope bridge, and a three mile forced
march.
